Poetry performance plus open stage. Reflecting one of the themes of this year's Folkestone Book Festival, we invite you to read poems inspired by H.G. Wells's idea that 'Our true nationality is humankind'. Please feel free to interpret the theme in any way - to agree or disagree, to take it international or bring it back to local or even personal. The author H.G. Wells lived in Folkestone and the idea of him walking the Leas, looking across the Channel and thinking about identity has a resonance today, as does much of his writing. Let's have a great evening pondering our identity and sharing our poetic humanity! All are welcome,
