About

I came late to poetry, beyond a few lost teenage efforts. I began writing again when I was in my early twenties. The first poem seemed to happen to me, after this the words spilled. Today, I host and perform at events, run workshops and have published one book (so far).

I write from an often philosophical viewpoint, inspired by life both in society and the natural world. I write my poetry to reflect on the details we can sometimes rush past and to contribute to bigger conversations. All the while I hope I can raise a smile and provoke a thought.

I have been writing for roughly eight years and began performing as a dare to myself and way to boost my confidence. Open mics turned into running an open mic, which developed into regular performances at my own events and as a guest at others. I have since added festival stage organising and workshop facilitating (in the UK and internationally).
