It’s almost August! And that’s great for so many reasons! Here are just a few.
Every Sunday 2-5 at the Lime Bar Café in Folkestone there is the open mic! The only Sunday it’s not on is the 13th. Come read poetry, sing, play, tell stories or comedy. Surprise us!
On Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th it is Pitch Festival! This is the first and is happening The Paddlesworth Project, Paddlesworth near Folkestone. It features loads of amazing artists, theatre and workshops. I will be running a spoken word stage with help from my Poets’ Corner friends Faith Warn and Anthony White. Come and share your poems, stories or spoken word!
Then on the Monday 14th the spoken word album Our Words On Your Lips is released. This is a wonderful project put together by Lenny Bunn’s featuring ten Kent poets and was recorded at Lenny’s Studio in Westenhanger. I am very grateful to be on of those poets featured. Keep your eyes peeled for it in local shops around Folkestone and hopefully beyond! A link to the album on Amazon is here.
As part of Poets’ Corner I will be at this year’s inaugural Folkestone Pride, happening at the Quarter House, Folkestone. Between 4 and 6 inside the Quarter House come take part in community poetry at this open forum!
See you around 🙂
