If I could paint
I’d paint a diamond
And on it’s many facets
Depict my character traits
And my assets
I’m not a painter though

My brush work
Is a bit less than so so
So with that in mind
Here are the words
That from that painting
Your eyes would have heard

In this world you are a diamond
Amazing and beautiful
With the occasional flaw
Imbued with a radiance
There for you
To cherish and adore

And that light shines out
Over every face
Each and all of this human race
But people aren’t great mirrors
Your not going to get
Reflected back you in full HD 20/20

More like a little glimmer
An abstract piece
And maybe you’ll see a saint
But maybe you’ll see a sinner
It’s part of you, a facet
But maybe not one you’ll like

But don’t recoil
Repell
It’s not some evil
Or nasty spell
It is part of you
No matter what you do

Just a part though
One patch in the quilt
And this scene
Needs both light and dark
That’s what gives
Life it’s spark

So shine on you crazy diamond
Let that little light shine
‘cos baby you’re a…firework?
You know the lyrics
They’re already
In your spirit

Just don’t forget
Your a diamond
And one like you
In a million years
They’d never find
Light or dark, it’s all you
