Stand Down, Dear One

The wars are over
The battles done
But this little soldier
Is always prepared
For one last run

You say the word and he’s there
But the old foes
Who brought such woes
Are long gone
They don’t care

Still he stands there
Tensed and ready
24/7
But in this new world
He’s locked out of heaven

The place, the life
Of his dreams
Doesn’t need a soldier
It just requires a person
Someone open and bolder

Move on and let go
Stand down, dear one
Release the tension and live
Achieve those experiences
Which are your intention
