Mr Miagi

This is a tribute to my Chinese Medicine practitioner Dr Chen, affectionately known as Mr Miagi.

The bell rings
As the door opens
That mingled herb fragrance
To the nostrils clings
And you’re in

In the practice of Mr Miagi
The best Chinese doctor in the West
A place where many have confessed
The nature of their bowels or flashed their tongue
This health guru Miagiji

It’s not just invasive questions
Over a steaming cup of ginger tea
You discuss all of China’s history
Not to mention the fundamentals of his trade
An ancient and wise medicinal philosophy

Mr Miagi himself
A friendly countenance
And wisely graying hair
Cheerfully unafraid to ask of you
Whats going on down there?
